~May Happenings~ Meet Kim Krans. Artist, author, and creator of NYT Bestseller The Wild Unknown Tarot deck. #checkoutabookwithbrynn My Kim Krans art project began when I ordered The Wild Unknown Tarot Deck and Guidebook (Official Keepsake Box Set). I couldn't wait for it to arrive. It was truly a magical moment when I opened the box. I set a few of my crystals on the opening pages and took a minute to digest the words May you always be on the inner quest. The quote resonated with me and inspired me. I bought a 30 x 40 canvas, painted it with matte chalk paint (Ink) and waited for round two of inspiration...how to place the cards. I tried laying them out so I'd see every creative image, but the layout felt too symmetrical. I wanted something random and free. I wanted it to be honest and destined, much like a tarot reading. What message did I want to look at every day? What message did I need to see? Then it hit me. I held the deck in my hand, face down, and flipped the cards, letting them land how they wanted. Some fell with the pattern showing which created a "background", while others fell with the artwork facing up. Either way the design was taking shape. When the last card was down, I stepped back and knew it was exactly what I wanted. I carefully glued each one and finished my project. It wasn't until I leaned it up against the wall that I read the guidebook to see what each card meant. They were spot on. Accurate in a haunting way that was both liberating and frightening. Sometimes messages from spirit come when you least expect them. They also show up in interesting ways––creative ways. I’m blessed to have found Kim Krans artwork in this tarot deck. I’m blessed for the messages her talent and the cards gave me. I created something special from them and today I’m sharing it with you. I’m speaking from experience here, create something that comes from your heart. It helps to gain perspective. During all the chaos and upheaval of these past few months, finding creativity can be tough but I encourage you to find one thing to spark your mind. Let your creativity flow and then watch where it takes you. You just might be surprised with the end result. Much love, Brynn

~April Happenings~ #checkoutabookwithbrynn Meet the DYNAMIC DUO! Ruth Ware writes amazing stories and Imogen Church brings them all to life. When I call Ruth Ware and Imogen Church the Dynamic Duo, I mean it in every way possible. I can’t encourage you enough to head over to Audible.com to buy one of their books, pop in your earbuds, and dive into a well-crafted world brought to life through words––written (Ruth Ware) and spoken (Imogen Church). Ruth Ware's has five titles and a sixth coming out in September of this year. While Imogen Church, according to Audible, has over one hundred and thirty-seven titles as narrator. Both women are amazing talents and wonderful storytellers. Please follow the links or click on any of the images to be directed to one of their pages. ** FIVE HAUNTINGLY BRILLIANT STARS ** Story: There is a bit of a slow burn to this story but I think the plot called for it. The intention is to show the title in every sense of the word and Ali Land does that masterfully. I enjoyed following the journey Milly took and every twist and turn along the way. I’m not one for spoilers so don’t expect them here, but I can tell you there will be more than one time where you’ll be rooting for Milly. Performance: Imogen Church never ceases to amaze me with her talent to turn words into magic. She brings every story she narrates to life in a way only she can do––Good Me, Bad Me, is no exception. Milly struggles with the voice of her mother constantly invading her thoughts and Imogen blends the two seamlessly. "Up eight. Up another four. The door on the right."––Masterfully read! Overall: I honestly thought it would’ve ended differently, but I’m not in any way disappointed with how it did. I think Good Me, Bad Me is a great read and an even better listen! I look forward to more books written by Ali Land. GREAT STORY!!!! *FIVE STARS* If you love vamps and are looking for a fresh take on an old troupe, then this series is for you! Vinx is a badass and you really need to find out why. I devoured this book and now I'm reading book 2, Vlad, with the same feverish need to find out what happens next. **Another BRAVO moment for Ruth Ware & Imogen Church** I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews listed for The Lying Game and read it to decide for myself. I thought it was a great read/listen! It's a story filled with all the same twists and turns I've come to expect from a Ruth Ware novel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've never seen Pretty Little Liars so I have no point of reference to compare, but I can say, without giving anything away, that this a tale about actions and consequences...youthful indiscretions and the idea that when we're young we feel infallible. That alone is a lie. This is a well-written story, flawlessly narrated by Imogen Church. Ms. Church has a way of making the words on the page real...like you're watching a movie play out with each sentence. Rule One: TELL A LIE Rule Two: STICK TO YOUR STORY Rule Three: DON’T GET CAUGHT Rule Four: NEVER LIE TO EACH OTHER Rule Five: KNOW WHEN TO STOP LYING |
