I cannot believe it’s December 1st. This year has been a doozy from beginning to end with all its changes and adjustments. Looking at the calendar, I can’t help but think about the last 31 days of 2022. This rusty old bucket is a visual of how I’ve been feeling lately. I don’t mind being “vintage,” but when I try to do things to “fill” my bucket with joy, love, peace, and gratitude, it goes out as quickly as it went in, leaving a “hole,” if you will. All of this has led me to this moment and the theme of the next thirty-one days. What do you do to fill your bucket? It’s the holiday season, and no matter what you celebrate, it brings with it decorations, gifts, gatherings, food, shopping, etc. It’s day one of December, and I’m still trying to find my Christmas spirit. I’m looking for the “magic” it used to hold and the joy it used to bring. I’m not saying I’m feeling Grinchy or Scrooge-ish; I’m saying I want it to mean more than checking things off the “To Do List.” I used to bake and start decorating the day after Thanksgiving, but this year, I’m struggling to get into the groove. That is where you all come in…I’m going to post and share on Instagram and Facebook and ask you all what brings you joy and fills your holiday bucket. My thought is that I can/will live vicariously through you as we tackle the last days of 2022. I think a new perspective will be just what I need to shake off the doldrums. I REALLY WANT to experience organic joy from the little things in life. I want to repair the bucket and fill it to the rim with everything that makes life so grand and glorious. So, what do you say? Are you up for the challenge of sharing your traditions and your holiday spirit with me? I love learning new things, and I can’t wait to see what brings each of you joy! Much Love, Brynn

HELLO, 2022 RONE AWARDS! Unsure of what a RONE Award is? Well, beginning in January, InD’tale Magazine starts the year by having a professional staff of reviewers read and review books. Any books given a 4.5-star rating or higher qualify as a nominee. Once the nominees have been selected, they are then turned over to the reading public to vote. The books with the highest number of public votes progress to become finalists. The final step is a group of industry professionals consisting of editors, writers, professors, etc., to judge the finalists based on a one to five scale from a specific list of requirements such as characterization, overall arc, editing, etc. Those scores will then be tallied by a professional company unrelated to InD’tale or its employees to determine the winner of the coveted RONE award and the honorable mentions. BAM! There it is. The very best books in the Indie and Small publishing industry are awarded the prestigious RONE award. So, there you have it, and I’m HONORED to say that From Blood to Ink is one of the nominees in the Paranormal Long category. During the week of April 25th-May 1st, if you’re so inclined, will you please follow the link below and vote for my book? I would greatly appreciate it. This month marks From Blood to Ink’s one-year “book birthday," and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate it than by giving Indigo, Cilla, and the rest of the cast and crew of From Blood to Ink the gift of “award-winning book” in the paranormal, long category. https://indtale.com/2022-rone-awards-week-three-april-25-may-1 Paranormal romance author, Indigo James, is under deadline to produce a book, but her muse is not cooperating. Feeling stuck, she joins her sister for a night out and ends up in the crosshairs of the gods of chaos and fear. The two gods bet they can turn Indigo from a mid-list author to a best-selling one. Indigo wakes up with blood on her keyboard and a completed manuscript she doesn't remember writing. The god of fear wants his chance, and his methods are less than pleasant. With her sister's life at stake—not to mention her own—Indigo is forced to write a second book that she despises. As the lines between fiction and reality blur, Indigo discovers an agenda that will create chaos and change her reality forever, unless she can take on a few gods and win. "Blood and Ink" cleverly weaves a story within a story in a spellbinding plot that keeps readers hooked! The sisterly bond between Indigo and her sister reminds us of the power of family and how far we will go to protect those we love. When the gods force Indigo to use her talents to produce a best seller, story reality collides with Greek mythology, which collides with a fictional world. The lines continue to blur until both Indigo and the reader are thrust into a world in which all three converge in an intense climax. It wraps up neatly—almost too neatly—at the end, where it isn't Indigo as much as her fictional creation who triumphs. Even so, "Blood and Ink" stands out for its innovative plot and turn-twisting adventure! Tricia Hill~Reviewer at InD'tale Magazine So Many Books, So Little Time! |
